As a mother, seeing photos like this today on Corriere.it made my blood run cold. The white caskets contains a child. There were 289 caskets too many on display in Abruzzo today at the state funeral for victims of Sunday night's earthquake, but seeing the white ones was really heart-wrenching. I feel Italian in spirit today, and I'd love to be able to do more for those who remain than send two-euro SMS contributions. Restate in pace carissimi...

That is truly awful. Being a mum too I know exactly what you're talking about. So incredibly sad.
It's truly terrible - the TG has had me in tears most evenings this week.... Not just those who have lost loved ones but also the many thousands who have lost their homes, memories, personal possessions.... Awful.
very sad
I could not hold back the tears when I saw this photo...so extremely sad. Like you, my heart felt so Italian in spirit and my heart broke for those families.
I don't think you need to be a Mother to be extremely touched by this. I saw those little caskets during the coverage on tv too and felt so very moved. I would like to do more too, hopefully everyone will donate a little at least (and hope that it goes to those who need it the most).
not a mom but I know what you mean. no words.
So very sad.
