The sun is shining, my vegetable
garden is in full bloom (having successfully combatted a persistent tomato-killing critter with something that I fear was non-organic - you know if the product is put out by the Bayer corporation, maker of aspirin and other medicinal substances, and needs to be diluted in water one drop per ten liters that it
has to be potent stuff) and I have an abundance of new little projects that have me zipping around the city, changing from Metro to characteristic orange tram and back again. Speaking of the tram, you can now
eat dinner or do aperativo while taking a tram ride around the city. That's kind of cool. I'll be looking into that as soon as they offer a vegetarian menu. The other night I went to the
Triennale Bovisa museum (see oddly positioned photos - sorry, that wide format was causin

g me problems and I'm a lame/unmotivated Photoshopper), a new contemporary art museum that reminds me a bit of P.S. 1 in New York. I'm a sucker for wacky contemporary art and any museum with a good bookshop and cafe. Two days ago I sat in the sunny piazza in front of
Santa Maria delle Grazie, the church that houses the
Last Supper, in between English lessons. Yesterday I sat on a sunny bench in front of the Arco della Pace (impressive Arc de Triomphe style arch through which one can glimpse the castle) while waiting to go into an editorial meeting. Milan is bugging me less this week. Now if only I didn't have the sniffles, I could be training for
that half marathon I should be running in two weeks or so. I successfully completed my weekend training and have been eating just right (pat on the back) but I'm fearful that 21 kilometers may be too much for me so soon. Hmm...I wonder if there's a half marathon somewhere a little further out? Say, June or July. The added bonus is that I'd go back to the U.S. in August toned and sun-kissed from all those lengthy outdoor runs. Friends and family members will be amazed at how lithe and lean I am despite all of that pasta and wine I am known to consume. Must re-group with my running partner on this "Let's run a half marathon even though we aren't really ready" plan. Regardless, I'll keep training as soon as the sniffles abate.

Anche tu!
I'm suffering too much from raffreddore da fieno and had to interrupt my mtbk rides in the countryside.
In winter we get cold because it's cold...in spring we get cold because of the pollini...uffa!
In bocca al lupo per la maratona AND the sniffles...A proposito...speaking of outdoor activities if you like mountain walking (I seem to recall you do)we could enjoy a passeggiata together (on the Alps by you or on the apennines by me)would be very very nice.

Ooh, hay fever. That's no fun. I'm not sure exactly why I'm so sniffly. Yes, I do like all kinds of walking and hiking. I have no plans to go away really until the U.S. in August so I'm up for a hike any time.
