My morning commute requires me to drive one exit on that inferno known as the Tangenziale Est di Milano. It's the bypass/ring road that circles Milan. If the subway came anywhere near my house, I'd never dream of subjecting myself to the stress and smog that is this motorway, much less getting in a car and contributing to the pollution myself. But a girl's got to get to the subway stop and this is the only reliable way to do it. I, of course, would be utilizing the left lane (the "parking lot" headed toward the city as seen in the picture above). So much for swinging open the shutters to see rolling hills....
